ABOUT LIONS CLUB

Lions Club International

Service is more than the sum of our collective deeds — it is the wellspring of our heart. As Lions and Leos, we serve to see our communities inspired, equipped, and transformed. We believe that even the greatest challenges can be overcome by the power of kindness.

When caring people join together, roll up their sleeves and take action to make their community better, it’s a beautiful thing—and an incredible feeling for everyone involved. That’s Lions. Being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness. It’s 1.4 million caring men and women serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.

I am very sorry to announce that due to several circumstances beyond our control, there will be no Gardeners Market this year. The Advocate arms will be hosting a Food Fayre in the market square on Saturday 31st May with craft stalls in the Festival Hall. We have a craft market in the Festival Hall on Saturday 28th June and will be having some stalls at the Wildlife In Your Backyard event at Bells Park Market Rasen on Saturday 14th June. If anyone is interested in either event please let me know. On behalf of the club, I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, we have not taken this decision lightly. Please be assured that we have booked 6th June 2026 for next year’s event.

Lion David, who many of you will have seen helping out at book stalls and collections over the past few year, sadly die at home last week after a short illness. He will be much missed by all those who knew him, especiaaly his fellow Lions.
