The Market Rasen Lions Club raise funds throughout the year to help those in need in the local, national and world wide communities.

Around Christmas time the local children look forward to seeing and meeting Santa on his Sleigh. Lion members (Elves) escort Santa around Market Rasen to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and the children are safe in and around the Sleigh. At the same time they give out sweets to the children and collect donations from their parents.

So the Market Rasen Lions have put together a small team of Volunteers to Plan and build Santa’s new Sleigh. We wanted to make improvements to make it safer for the children to visit Santa by providing steps up to the sleigh with handrails. Provide seating for the children. To enhance the lighting, by using the latest technology to give the children a very special Christmas experience and finally to build two life size 3D Reindeer to complete the whole picture of Reindeer and sleigh

A list of materials was put together and an appeal went out to ask for individuals and companies to sponsor the build by providing materials. Follow our progress as we build Santa’s new Sleigh
